Approved affiliates earn 30% recurring commission on every paid subscription they refer, for the lifetime of that customer's subscription — not just the first month. So if you refer a customer who pays ₹499/month on the Pro plan, you earn ₹150/month for as long as they remain a paying customer. Annual subscriptions earn the same 30% on the full annual amount upfront. There's no cap on total earnings per customer or per affiliate. Top affiliates currently earn between ₹40,000 and ₹2 lakhs per month from CopyBuilder AI alone.

Anyone with an audience of Indian business owners, marketers, freelancers, agency owners, content creators, or founders can apply. We particularly welcome marketing newsletter writers, LinkedIn creators, YouTubers in the marketing/business space, podcasters, agency owners, and SaaS reviewers. We don't require a minimum audience size, but you'll need to clearly explain how you plan to promote the product (your channel, audience size, content cadence) on the application form so we can assess fit.

Most applications are reviewed within 2 business days. We manually review every application to ensure quality — this prevents spam affiliates and keeps the program valuable for legitimate creators. If approved, you'll receive a welcome email with your unique tracking link and access to the affiliate dashboard at /dashboard/affiliate. If we have follow-up questions, we'll email you for clarification before deciding. Rejected applicants are welcome to reapply after 90 days with updated promotion plans.

Payouts happen on the first business day of each month for earnings accrued in the previous month, with a minimum payout threshold of ₹2,000. Earnings below the threshold roll over to the next month. Payouts are sent via NEFT directly to your registered Indian bank account; international affiliates can request payment via Wise (TransferWise) at the prevailing FX rate. You'll receive an email notification when each payout is initiated, plus a downloadable statement showing every conversion that contributed to it.

When someone clicks your unique affiliate link, a cookie is set in their browser that tracks the referral for 90 days. If they sign up and become a paying customer within that window, the conversion is automatically attributed to you. The Cashfree payment webhook handles attribution server-side as well, so even if the customer clears cookies between click and signup, the email match catches it. You can see real-time clicks, signups, and paid conversions in your affiliate dashboard, with hourly updates.

Your commission stops accruing once the customer cancels — there's no clawback for already-paid commissions, but no future earnings from a cancelled subscription. If the same customer later restarts their subscription within 12 months, the original referral attribution is restored and you start earning again automatically. If they restart after 12 months, the new subscription counts as a fresh signup and any new affiliate's referral cookie takes precedence.

Yes — we don't require exclusivity. Many of our top affiliates also promote Jasper, Copy.ai, Writesonic, ChatGPT Plus, Notion AI, and other tools. We just ask that comparison content is fair and accurate, and that you clearly disclose your affiliate relationship per ASCI (Indian advertising) and FTC (US) guidelines. If you publish a head-to-head comparison and we feel the framing is misleading, we'll reach out to discuss; we won't terminate your affiliate status without warning.

Yes — we prohibit: (1) running paid Google Ads on our brand keywords ('CopyBuilder AI'), (2) cookie stuffing or any form of click fraud, (3) coupon/deal sites that don't add real content value, (4) email spam to non-opted-in lists, (5) impersonating CopyBuilder AI staff, and (6) misleading customers about pricing or features. Violation of any of these results in immediate program termination and forfeit of unpaid commissions. Legitimate organic content, social posts, newsletters, podcasts, and YouTube reviews are all welcome.

Yes. Approved affiliates get access to a marketing kit with logos, screenshots, product walkthrough videos, comparison tables versus key competitors, pre-written social post templates for LinkedIn, X, and Instagram, and a promotional graphics pack sized for major platforms. We also have a private Slack/WhatsApp group for top affiliates where we share early access to new features, exclusive promo codes, and best practices from other affiliates. The marketing kit is updated quarterly.

No — affiliate commissions only apply to net-new customers who sign up via your affiliate link or via a verifiable email match within the 90-day cookie window. If someone is already a paying customer when they click your link, no commission accrues. This keeps the program fair and prevents account-poaching. However, if an existing free-tier user upgrades to a paid plan via your link within the 90-day window after their click, that upgrade does count and you earn commission on the new paid subscription.

The referral program is for everyday users sharing with friends — they earn 20 free credits when their friend signs up and makes a first generation. The affiliate program is for creators and marketers with audiences who want to earn cash commission on paid subscriptions. You can participate in both: refer friends from your personal account for credit rewards, and use your separate affiliate link in audience-facing content for commission. The two programs are tracked separately and don't conflict.

Not currently. We pay direct affiliates only — there's no 2-tier or MLM structure, and we don't pay commission on affiliates that you in turn recruit. This keeps the program straightforward, fully compliant with Indian financial regulations, and avoids the negative reputation that comes with MLM-style tools. We may consider a 2-tier structure for very high-volume affiliate networks in 2026 — if you have 50+ creators in your network, contact us about a custom arrangement.

Yes. Commissions are reportable income under Indian tax law (typically as 'Income from Other Sources' or 'Profits & Gains from Business or Profession' depending on your scale). For payouts above ₹15,000 per year, we apply 5% TDS as required under section 194H and provide a quarterly Form 16A. You're responsible for declaring full commission income in your annual tax return and paying any incremental income tax. Consult your CA for personal tax planning. International affiliates handle their own tax obligations per their local jurisdiction.

Realistic conversion rates vary widely by audience quality. Marketing-newsletter audiences typically see 1.5% to 4% click-to-paid-conversion. LinkedIn/X creators in the marketing space see 0.8% to 2.5%. YouTube reviews of CopyBuilder AI see 2% to 6% from the video's click-out rate. Generic broad audiences see 0.2% to 1%. Top affiliates focus on warm, intent-matched audiences (people actively looking for AI marketing tools) rather than blasting their entire list. A focused promotion to 1000 right-fit readers usually outperforms a generic blast to 10,000.

Yes. The /dashboard/affiliate page shows live click counts, signup counts, paid conversion counts, and accrued commission. Updates happen hourly for clicks and signups, and within minutes for paid conversions (triggered by the Cashfree webhook). The earnings table shows every conversion with the converted user's anonymised ID, plan name, monthly amount, and your commission amount per period. You can also export the full earnings table as CSV for your accounting system.

No — bank details are only required when you're ready to receive your first payout (typically after your first month of accrued commissions above the ₹2,000 threshold). The dashboard prompts you to add bank details on the 'Earnings' tab once you're close to the payout threshold. We collect bank account number, IFSC code, account holder name, and a PAN card number (required for TDS compliance) — all stored encrypted at rest and only accessible to our finance team for processing payouts.
